Staff Sergeant Abdo's family hung a plaque in his memory: "Noam, our King, we are madly proud of you, your fighting courage and love of your homeland." Amir Gabay, his uncle, said: "Noam was a special child. Sweet and smiling, truly hardworking; he always wanted to go to the Golani and he fulfilled his dream of defending the people of Israel. He went on to the mech course with determination. We are a Golani family, his older brother Lidor was in the 13th Battalion and I – the uncle – from the 51st Battalion. The heart of the whole nation is bleeding, it's not simple at all. God will avenge his blood.
