After weeks of breaking contact with the outside world and rumors that he might have been killed in an IDF strike, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has reportedly renewed contact with the mediators of the proposed hostage deal, demonstrating that he is still alive.

The possibility that he may have been inadvertently taken out in an air strike was first seriously investigated a few weeks ago and an IDF graph of the leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah even showed a question mark hanging over Sinwar's image.
