Oz Davidian, a resident of Moshav Orbit, provided chilling testimony on a special day of broadcasts from Ofakim, in which he described how he saved 120 young people from the killing fields near the compound where the Nova Party took place on October 7.
Oz went to the inferno following a text message he received from his sister, warning of young people in the area who needed help. "I went out into the field and went into the party grounds to get the kids out," he says.
The scenes before him were unbearable – dozens of bodies scattered among the agricultural fields and vehicles trying to escape got stuck. Oz did not stop, and although he understood the risk he faced, he continued to remove groups of young people from the party area.
"They told me I saved 120 children," Oz says sadly. "Every time I managed to save a team, I didn't think about it. I kept running, because I knew there was more. After that, when I came back, I cried for days for not being able to save more."
Davidian describes difficult moments when he arrived too late, when the difficult sights were etched in his memory. "I did everything I could, but I only managed to save 120 children," he shares sadly.
Oz describes the personal experience, but does not forget to emphasize the courage of the residents of the south on that terrible day. "We are a country of heroes," he says excitedly. He tells of the heroism of the residents of Ofakim, some of whom went to fight terrorists with guns and knives, some of whom were killed in the struggle.
