According to information received today (Sunday) from Palestinian reports, it appears that the IDF has eliminated the commander of UNRWA's operations in the Gaza Strip, Ahed al-Maqid. He was reportedly killed in an IDF strike in the Jabalya refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

Yesterday, with the end of Shabbat and the Rosh Hashanah holiday, the IDF launched an attack on the city of Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip, after intelligence indicated attempts by Hamas to rehabilitate itself in the city and reestablish itself in the area. The 162nd Division is leading the attack on the city, and the Gaza Division has taken its place in the terrorist city of Rafah.

The combat teams of the 401st and 460th Brigades completed the encirclement of the area after coming from opposite directions and surprising the enemy in Gaza. The IDF says that our forces hit quite a few terrorists during the attack and that they are now operating in the Jabaliya area.
