The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) is now warning of an increase in Iranian attempts to carry out assassination attacks in Israel, according to Amit Segel of Channel 12.
Very significant assassinations, some of them in advanced stages of execution – and which have not yet been permitted for publication - have been exposed by Shin Bet.
Iran is working to recruit Israeli citizens to harm senior Israeli officials, as was recently reported regarding the joint investigation by the Shin Bet and Yahav Lahav 433 in the case of Moti Maman, a resident of Ashkelon, who was recently indicted for serious security offenses.
In addition, the Iranians are working more intensively to recruit Israeli citizens online. Iranian-Israeli entities are located on various websites and network platforms, with an emphasis on websites and channels dealing with Israeli digital currencies, finance, and job search sites. Iranian officials offer those Israelis they locate online high fees for various tasks – from burying money and phones in various places in Israel, distributing flyers and writing graffiti – to setting fire to vehicles and physically harming individuals.
It should be clarified that although in many cases, when contact is established and at its inception, the Iranians present themselves as seeking to "employ" an Israeli citizen to carry out tasks that appear to be seemingly innocent for payment, within a short time the requested "missions" are of a dangerous nature with the intention of harming the security of the state and its citizens.
Shin Bet is asking the public to be extremely attentive regarding the aforementioned schemes and if a suspicion arises, it should be reported immediately to the security services.
