Lebanese media reported an early morning explosion in Beirut’s Al-Kola district on Monday, with initial reports suggesting the blast targeted a residential apartment outside of the Hezbollah-controlled Dahieh area.
According to Reuters, the explosion hit an apartment linked to former Lebanese parliament member Najah Wakim. The Saudi news outlet Al-Hadath attributed the attack to an Israeli airstrike, though official confirmation is still pending.
Shortly afterward, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) issued a statement confirming the deaths of three of its senior members: Muhammad Abdel Aal, Imad Ouda, and Abdul Rahman Abdel Aal. The militant group, which often operates in Lebanon, claimed the strike was a deliberate assassination carried out by Israel against its top operatives.
