Lebanon ceasefire, Netanyahu threats, Likud

"We will consider our vote": MKs in Likud set an ultimatum to Netanyahu

After criticizing the ceasefire, members of the Knesset in Likud announced that they would issue an ultimatum to the Prime Minister regarding the vote on the state budget if Israel ceases fire against Hezbollah.

Following the reports of a ceasefire in the coming hours between Israel and Hezbollah, members of the Knesset in Likud sent a threatening message to Netanyahu in a move that may topple his government. In a conversation with Dekla News reporter Aharon Shafran, a number of Knesset members from the faction said that "if Netanyahu goes to a ceasefire, we will consider our vote to approve the budget on Sunday." The Likud party attacked the prime minister for the decision to reach a ceasefire despite his insistence at the security meeting that the negotiations would only take place under fire.

MK Tali Gottlieb wrote on the X network: "Mr. Prime Minister, woe betide us if we go to a ceasefire at this time! The people are behind you. You are able to withstand pressures. You have to withstand the pressure. For the security of the citizens of the State of Israel and for the promotion of the return of all our abductees, we must continue a merciless artillery attack against Hezbollah terrorists. "Only when Hezbollah begs and in the process pressures Hamas to return all of our abductees then and only then will we consider otherwise. A cease-fire at this time is a terrible disgrace and will cry for generations. Mr. Prime Minister, don't be broken, you and we have no right to be broken. God bless you."

Minister Miki Zohar reacted: "The cease-fire without any significant return on the part of Hezbollah is a serious error that jeopardizes Israel's major security achievements in recent days. I really hope that the reports are not true, we must continue with all our might until a clear decision is made in the north."
