Iran, Nasrallah

Iran is extremely unimpressed with Nasrallah – Here's why

Beyond the significant military blows that Hezbollah organization has taken in the last week, Hassan Nasrallah has suffered another devastating blow that he may not be able to recover from.

The Secretary-General of the Hezbollah terrorist organization, Hassan Nasrallah, has taken significant hits in the last week that will take him a long time to recover from. However, it seems that in at least one area, he has suffered a mortal blow.

Prof. Uzi Rabi, head of the Moshe Dayan Center at Tel Aviv University, says that beyond the military blows Nasrallah has taken, the damage to his relationship with Iran has been significantly affected, and he no longer constitutes a factor from the perspective of the Ayatollah regime.

In an interview with Radio 103FM, Rabi said: "Nasrallah is no longer such a central partner in discussions. Let's remember that since last week, those who sit at the helm of decisions of this kind are people ... from the Revolutionary Guards in Iran. As we know, the Iranians are the most sophisticated people in the world and also the most malicious. They saw the jump of the free West, they understand that it is eager to stop things here also out of fear that there will not be a regional war here."

In addition, Rabi claimed a deterioration in relations between Hezbollah and Iran: "Israel is finally working in an unpredictable way from Nasrallah's perspective. The elimination of such an organization's leader doesn't guarantee at the end of the day that things will be resolved. Nasrallah has finally reached a place where his elimination would certainly pave the way for [other] developments. A terrorist organization needs to be rubbed against everything around it, to sow distrust and skepticism in every situation, and doubts in the ambivalent relations between it and Iran."
