Foreign airlines are cancelling their flights to Israel in light of the situation in Lebanon and these cancellations come after the companies only recently resumed operations in Israel.

The Lufthansa Group, which includes Lufthansa, Swiss, Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines and Eurowings, announced the cancellation of flights until September 14, inclusive. A Lufthansa Group spokesperson said: "Due to recent developments, the Lufthansa Group is updating its flight schedule to/from Tel Aviv: all passenger and cargo flights will be temporarily suspended. Lufthansa offers passengers affected by cancellations the option to cancel their tickets at no cost or rebook."

In addition, there are still airlines that have not returned to Israel since the previous incident in Lebanon at the end of July, and now it is possible that more airlines will join the current wave of cancellations, all just before the holidays.

The low-cost airline, Ryanair, announced that it is cancelling its flights to Israel until September 26 (inclusive). In addition, low-cost carrier easyJet announced that it would not resume flights to Israel until next spring.

United (until further notice) and Delta (until the end of 2024) also announced the cancellation of flights from New York to Israel.

Spain's Violing has cancelled flights to Barcelona until the end of 2024.

Virgin Atlantic cancelled flights to Israel until September 25 inclusive.

Air India announced the cancellation of its flights until October 24, and in fact will not resume operations in the country throughout the summer and holidays.
