A 17-year-old youth was killed in a severe car accident in northern Israel when the vehicle collided with a separation barrier. A 20-year-old passenger was moderately to severely injured in the same incident.
The accident occurred on Route 77 near the Yishi interchange towards Zarzir, in the Carmel region and it seems that it occured happened during a siren alert.
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported as follows: At 05:18, MDA's 101 center in the Carmel region received a report about a car crashing into a separation barrier.
MDA paramedic Ofer Winik and emergency medic Tal Nixon stated: "We arrived at the scene and saw a crushed car. A 17-year-old was trapped in the back seat, unconscious, not breathing, and without a pulse. After he was extracted, we had to pronounce his death."
They added, "A 20-year-old was fully conscious and had exited the vehicle suffering from injuries. After initial treatment, we evacuated him to the hospital in moderate to severe condition. Two other passengers were lightly injured and treated at the scene."
