Terrorists opened fire a short while ago on a student bus in Mevo Dotan, an Israeli settlement in the West Bank. Miraculously, there were no casualties in the attack. The bus left Mevo Dotan and was shot at as it was exiting the settlement. The bus stopped for a security forces check and continued its journey after being inspected.
Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, warns of the deteriorating security situation in Judea and Samaria: "This shooting could have ended differently. We could have been, God forbid, at children's funerals now. We experienced a miracle, but we don't rely on miracles. Ignoring this incident will lead, God forbid, to a much worse outcome. We are at war. In Judea and Samaria too, everyone understands this. The operations to eliminate terrorists are important and extensive, but they are not enough.
We need to stop the containment policy, eliminate the well-known terrorists who walk around with weapons in broad daylight in terrorist parades and other places, and bring back the security checkpoints. Anyone who calls for the murder of Jews must know that they are dead men walking. Containment will bring us to cemeteries; we must not continue with the containment policy."
