Following a second mass attack on Hezbollah militants in Lebanon via walkie talkies and pagesr, reports indicate that members of the organization are violently expelling UN peacekeeping forces from the country.

Reports from Lebanon describe chaos, with widespread anger among Hezbollah members who find themselves under heavy attack for the second time in 24 hours.

Local reports state that Hezbollah forces have begun to remove UN officials and teams from UNIFIL, the mission responsible for maintaining the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel. UNIFIL is a UN military force operating in Lebanon with the aim of "preserving the ceasefire between the parties" according to Resolution 425 of the UN Security Council following Operation Litani.

Since the Second Lebanon War, UNIFIL has shifted from a peacekeeping force to one with enforcement capabilities against terrorist elements in southern Lebanon. However, the organization has not taken active measures against Hezbollah for years.
