This afternoon (Tuesday), a series of pagers used by the Hezbollah terrorist organization exploded simultaneously at several points in Lebanon, in the Dahieh neighborhood and also in the south of the country. These are communication devices intended for internal and encrypted message transmission.

Hebrew media attributed the mysterious explosions to Israel. So did Lebanese media outlets and Sky News Arabia, who reported that 'Israel managed to hack the portable pagers and cause them to explode.'

There is no comment from Israel on the incident.

According to Reuters, dozens of Hezbollah members were sreiously wounded from the explosions.

Earlier today, there were feverish consultations in the security establishment, including discussions on how to respond to Hezbollah. The consultations are being held against the backdrop of the Shin Bet's publication about the attempted attack that Hezbollah tried to carry out against a former senior official in the security establishment, and against the backdrop of the War Cabinet's decision to add the safe return of northern residents to their homes as an official goal in the war.
