Snakes on a plane (to Israel)!

The Israel Police seized a suitcase containing 60 different kinds of snakes and a monitor lizard, which were being smuggled in by an Israeli citizen from Germany.

Officers of the Israel Police and Border Guard located a suspicious suitcase being brought into Israel from Germany, and which contained 60 different kinds of snakes and a monitor lizard.

The bearer of the suitcase, a resident of the country's center, was taken to be interrogated and the reptiles transferred to be handled by the inspectors of the Nature and Parks Authority and the Veterinary Service.

The value of the smuggled lizard and snakes is assessed at tens of thousands of shekels.
