Political sources told Kann reporter Michael Shemesh that there is progress in talks between Gideon Sa'ar and Binyamin Netanyahu, due among other things to the escalation in the north. Consultations were even held in Netanyahu's circle on the matter.
The sources added that Netanyahu is interested in bringing Sa'ar in as soon as possible regardless of the situation and without removing Gallant. Netanyahu's entourage still fears bringing Sa'ar into the Defense Ministry and is still looking for creative ways of bringing him in - perhaps to the Foreign Ministry.
The Draft Law - The Main Stumbling Block
Talks with Sa'ar include the question of whether he will allow the passing of a possible draft law, which is the main obstacle faced by the government and which is the main driver in Netanyahu's desire to remove Gallant. The matter has not yet been agreed upon with Sa'ar and is the reason negotiations haven't moved.
Journalist Amit Segal said that Ze'ev Elkin, a member of Sa'ar's faction, would become a minister.
