Uncovering the truth: Lebanon evacuation orders given without IDF authorization

An Israeli brigade commander unilaterally ordered the distribution of evacuation leaflets in southern Lebanon without approval from senior military leadership, according to Galatz's military correspondent Doron Kadosh.

Colonel Avi Marciano, commander of a regional brigade along the Israel-Lebanon border, reportedly made the decision to drop leaflets urging evacuation in the Wazzani area of southern Lebanon. The action was taken without the knowledge or consent of Brig. Gen. Shai Kalper, commander of Division 91, or Maj. Gen. Uri Gordin, head of the Israeli Defense Forces Northern Command, the sources said.

The leaflets were distributed using a drone operated by the brigade, bypassing normal protocols that would involve the Israeli Air Force. Military officials confirmed that the Air Force was not aware of the operation.

The area targeted for evacuation, known as the Wazzani region, has been a source of tension in recent weeks. Israeli military sources report that the area, primarily populated by Syrian refugee encampments rather than permanent residences, has been used as a launch site for attacks against northern Israel.

The IDF has not officially commented on the specific actions of Colonel Marciano or any potential repercussions he may face for acting without authorization.
