A 19-year-old man has died in an apparent drowning at a mikveh (ritual bath) in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council area early this morning (Tuesday).

Magen David Adom (MDA), received a call at 6:22 AM reporting an unconscious young man at the mikveh. Paramedics and EMTs were immediately dispatched to the scene.

When they arrived, they found the young man lying unconscious near the water. Witnesses reported that he had been found unresponsive in the water and was pulled out before the medical team arrived.

MDA paramedic Sivan Rubin, who was at the scene, stated, "We immediately performed resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions and ventilations." Despite these efforts, the medical team was ultimately forced to pronounce the young man's death.

The identity of the deceased has not been released, and local authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
