A new political action group calling itself Iranians for Trump announced its launch yesterday (Tuesday), with the aim of "empowering and mobilizing Iranian-American voters who champion ... policies that align with our community's values and priorities," according to Iran International.
Nasim Behrouz, Persian Language Spokesperson of Iranians for Trump, said that "while the Biden-Harris administration has struggled to effectively confront the threats posed by Iran's regime, President Trump's leadership is marked by an unwavering commitment to safeguarding American national security ... and supporting the Iranian people in their struggle for freedom."
While most Iranian-Americans are concentrated in non-competitive states such as California (210,128) and New York (27,722), according to World Population Review, there are small numbers in must-win swing states such as Arizona (8,282) and Georgia (10,424), both of which Trump lost by a little over 10,000 votes in 2020.
In an election with increasingly tight polls and margins, efforts such as that of Iranians for Trump may help tilt the scales in favor of the former President.
