Nasrallah claims, Shukr assassination retaliation

A Severe Blow to Nasrallah: "His Commanders Know the Truth"

Hezbollah’s retaliation for the killing of its chief of staff, Fuad Shukr, has failed. Even Nasrallah’s commanders know he lied in his speech but prefer to remain silent.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has been unable to carry out revenge for the killing of Hezbollah's chief of staff, Fuad Shukr, due to Israel’s preemptive strike earlier last week, which destroyed thousands of missiles en route to Israel. Despite this, Nasrallah boasted in his speech that the mission succeeded and that the organization managed to strike strategic targets in Israel.

Professor Amatzia Baram, a Middle East expert, states that Nasrallah's claims are false, and his major problem is that even his commanders within the organization know he is lying but choose to remain silent to preserve the terrorist organization’s honor in the eyes of Arab leaders.

In an interview with the 'Ma’ariv' website, Baram said: "Nasrallah was forced to demonstrate to the Muslim world, and especially to Hezbollah operatives, that he was not ignoring the killing of the most senior commander in the organization – Fuad Shukr, who was considered Hezbollah’s chief of staff. He planned a major attack, but it did not succeed as he hoped.

Despite the failure, Nasrallah managed to maintain his honor by giving a speech claiming he had successfully targeted Israeli bases during the attack, even though these were lies intended to preserve his image." He noted that "senior commanders in the organization know he is lying but are willing to cooperate with the narrative to maintain the group's dignity in front of the Lebanese public and the Muslim world. However, Nasrallah is not expected to attempt another attack on Tel Aviv unless Israel conducts another assassination of a senior commander in Beirut."
