During August, Hezbollah and other groups carried out 281 attacks along the northern border, compared to 259 in July, as per the Alma Institute’s data. Additionally, the period from mid-August until August 25, the day the IDF launched its preemptive strike, was marked by heightened intensity.
The institute notes that in August 2024, Hezbollah's use of high-angle fire reached its peak, with an increase in the number of such incidents (176) compared to July 2024 (137).
The data also reveals that the number of UAV and drone incidents rose to 62 this month, compared to 56 in July 2024. This increase aligns with the overall rise in attacks in August 2024 (281) compared to July 2024 (259).
Moreover, Hezbollah employed surface-to-air missiles and sniper fire during August. As a result of these Hezbollah attacks along the northern border, 3 Israelis were killed and 30 others were injured.
