Biden and Harris discuss next steps with US hostage deal negotiation team

The two discussed the status of the August 16 "bridging" proposal, as well as further steps to be taken in consultation with "co-mediators" Qatar and Egypt.

The White House said today (MOnday) that President Biden and Vice President Harris met with the American hostage deal negotiation team in the White House Situation Room, to discuss recent developments, including the murder of the six hostages.

The statement noted that Biden "expressed his devastation and outrage at the murder, and reaffirmed the importance of holding Hamas’s leaders accountable."

Biden and Harris also discussed the status of the August 16 "bridging" proposal, as well as further steps to be taken in consultation with "co-mediators" Qatar and Egypt.
