JPPI Poll: 49% of Jewish Israelis say Philadelphi must be held even if no deal, 43% say the opposite

With debate raging over whether Netanyahu is right to hold onto the Philadelphi corridor, JPPI's tracking poll shows a closely divided nation.

As of yesterday (Sunday), the JPPI tracking poll known as Hamadad finds that 49% of Jewish Israelis support holding the Philadelphi Corridor even if it means no hostage deal, while 43% believe Israel must give it up in order to secure a deal.

With protests and debate raging and a sympathy strike being held to free the hostages, the question of control of the Philadelphi Corrridor along the Gaza-Egypt border looms large.

Prime Minister Netanyahu and most of his cabinet say that it must be held under all conditions, while many, including in the press, the opposition, and even Defense Minister Gallant, insist that it is negotiable or even unnecessary.

The JPPI poll shows that while opponents protesting and striking do represent a significant portion of the public, so do those who support Netanyahu's view.
