Vice President Kamala Harris issued a statement last night (Saturday) strongly condemning the murder of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, along with five other hostages, in the Rafah area of the Gaza Strip.

In her statement, Harris called Hamas an "evil terrorist organization" which now "has even more American blood on its hands."

She said furthermore that "The threat Hamas poses to the people of Israel - and American citizens in Israel - must be eliminated and Hamas cannot control Gaza. The Palestinian people too have suffered under Hamas' rule for nearly two decades."

Harris ended by saying that President Biden and I will never waver in our commitment to free the Americans and all those held hostage in Gaza."
