Hostage Headquarters on the Collapse of the Rafah Brigade: PM Clings to Philadelphi Route as an Excuse

Following the report on the collapse of the Rafah Brigade, the Hostage Headquarters is calling on the Prime Minister to pursue a deal: "The hostage families protest that the Prime Minister continues to cling to the Philadelphi route as an excuse."

After the IDF confirmed the collapse of the Rafah Brigade and that 80% of the tunnels along the Philadelphi route have been destroyed, the Hostage Headquarters is urging the Prime Minister to finalize a deal.

In a statement, the headquarters said: "The hostage families protest that the Prime Minister continues to cling to the Philadelphi route as an excuse not to finalize a deal he himself initiated. This is despite the IDF announcing that it has destroyed the Rafah Brigade and already eliminated 80% of the tunnels along the Philadelphi route (with the remaining to be destroyed as part of the agreement with the Americans and Egyptians)."

It was also stated: "The hostage families call on the Prime Minister to stop misleading the public and to instruct the negotiation teams to finalize a deal that will bring home the hostages who have been abandoned in Gaza for 11 months. Enough with the abandonment!"

Earlier today, it was reported that nearly five months after the invasion of Rafah began, the IDF claims that the Hamas terror brigade has officially disbanded. During the fighting, the 401st Brigade has been exceptionally effective against the militants despite Hamas’s attempts to move north. IDF sources who toured the Philadelphi route observed the disintegration of the terror organization at every point in the area. The statement noted that 80% of the underground infrastructure in the Rafah area has been destroyed. The Nahal Brigade and the 401st Brigade have been operating in the area for three weeks, fighting above ground and mapping the underground routes.
