According to the IDF Spokesperson, during the night, security forces began a large-scale operation aimed at countering terrorism and destroying terrorist infrastructure in Jenin and Tulkarem. Operations took place in several cities and refugee camps, and Arab reports indicate that there have been numerous fatalities among militants, primarily due to aerial fire. Palestinians reported exchanges of fire and numerous explosives being deployed against the forces.
Subsequent reports emerged that the IDF had instructed residents of Nour al-Shams to evacuate, but the IDF Spokesperson has denied these reports. "During the IDF's operation to expose explosive devices buried under roads in Nour al-Shams, unintentional damage was caused to a water pipe. Contrary to reports, there is no evacuation order for residents of the area, and there are additional water sources available in Nour al-Shams for the population. The IDF is allowing residents who wish to distance themselves from the combat zones to leave the area safely," the statement read.
It is worth noting that the name of the operation in northern Samaria and the Jordan Valley is "Summer Camps," and it is expected to continue for several days. The IDF Spokesperson stated that IDF forces from the Kfir Brigade, Duvdevan Unit, engineering units, and other units continue to operate in the broad campaign, which is focused on three refugee camps: Jenin, Nour al-Shams in Tulkarem, and Al-Far'a in northern Jordan Valley.
