Nadera Lehov-Kiborkian, the Arab professor from the Hebrew University who denied the events of the October 7 massacre on multiple occasions, has resigned from her position at the university. Kiborkian, an Arab professor of criminology previously employed as a full professor at the Hebrew University, informed the university administration of her resignation today. Kiborkian provoked significant outrage and controversy when she denied the events of the October 7 massacre in interviews and online discussions conducted in Arabic and English with international figures.
In a podcast interview, she denied many elements of the massacre, including the murder of children and families, and sexual assaults against Jewish women by terrorists and Palestinians.
Additionally, in other statements, she supported instilling fear among Jews, saying: “They cannot claim ownership of my land, they cannot displace my people, they cannot kill and not be afraid. So they should be afraid. And that’s why they are afraid – because they cannot look us in the face.”
Furthermore, she publicly supported the "cancellation of Zionism," saying: “I don’t know when the world will wake up. It’s time to cancel Zionism. And that’s the direction I’m going – to cancel Zionism.” Regarding the October massacre, she explained: “They will use anything to continue killing; this is a killing machine. This regime can only continue by erasing the Palestinians. They will use every lie, they started with babies, they continued with rape, and they will continue with a million other lies every day with different stories. I hope the world stops believing them.”
According to reports, Kiborkian faced significant pressure from senior university officials to resign after her statements caused considerable uproar and even led to a temporary suspension of her position at the university. Kiborkian has now officially resigned from all her roles at the university.
