The IDF announced that Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi has appointed Col. Elad Goren as "humanitarian-civilian coordinator" for the Gaza Strip, with the approval of Defense Minister Gallant.
According to the Times of Israel, the IDF said of the appointment that "deal with the integration and implementation of the humanitarian effort in the Gaza Strip and the coordination with the international community, in a way that will allow the implementation of the humanitarian effort while upholding the security interests of the State of Israel."
