Yesterday (Tuesday), in the afternoon, a report was received at the Unit 360 – ZAKA hotline about the body of a woman (approximately 63 years old) found dead in an advanced state of decomposition in her apartment in Ashkelon. According to neighbors, she had not left her apartment for several days. ZAKA volunteers from the Ashkelon team took care of the remains and collected evidence from the challenging scene. The woman's body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine for further investigation.
A few hours later, another report was received at the ZAKA hotline about the discovery of a body of a woman (approximately 65 years old) in her apartment in Rishon Lezion, also in a state of decomposition after she had not been in contact for several days. ZAKA volunteers from the Shfela team took care of the remains at the scene.
Yaakov Lieberman, spokesperson for Unit 360 – ZAKA, noted: “Recently, we have encountered many cases of elderly individuals found dead in their homes after not being seen for several days. If we all pay attention to our neighbors and acquaintances, and make an effort to say hello every day, we could save many lives.”
