Lebanon war on Israel, Hezbollah attack

Preparing for War: Lebanese Army Takes Unprecedented Step

Preparing for a comprehensive campaign? After the IDF repelled a Hezbollah attack attempt, the Lebanese Army has taken an unusual measure.

The Lebanese news site "Al-Nashra" reported that Lebanese Army Commander Joseph Aoun has instructed his personnel to suspend the issuance of annual travel permits for all military personnel. According to the report, all unutilized permits will be returned to the military command, while previously issued permits will remain valid, as reported by Walla.

It is worth noting that, according to a report from a research center specializing in the northern arena, Lebanese soldiers stationed south of the Litani River have no impact on Hezbollah and are unable to halt or delay its terrorist activities. Furthermore, a significant portion of the soldiers themselves support Hezbollah. The institute warns that while the U.S., France, the UK, and Germany provide financial, military, and logistical support to the Lebanese Army, the demographic trend in the country, favouring the Shia population from which Hezbollah emerged under Iranian guidance, increases the likelihood that the Lebanese Army could become a "proxy of the terrorist organization."

"Alma" assesses that if the current trend continues, Hezbollah may ultimately gain complete control over the Lebanese Army, as reported by Israel Hayom.
