The Arab world reacted today (Tuesday) to the rescue of the kidnapped Farhan Alkadi, a Bedouin resident of Rahat, who was held hostage in an underground tunnel. Farhan was rescued in an IDF operation and is in good condition.

Narwana Mahmoud, an Egyptian commentator who lives in London, reacted with a bit of humor: "Al-Jazeera almost howled after the rescue of the Israeli Bedouin Muslim Farhan al-Qadi." Mahmoud referred to the coverage on the Qatari and pro-Hamas channel that was forced to report on the IDF's success. "The idea that Hamas freed the Israeli Bedouin because he is an Arab is a delusional myth. If they wanted to release him, they would have done it months ago. But for Hamas, Farhan al-Qadi is a traitor. They kept him alive only to trade him for their prisoners."

Commentator Amjad Taha from the United Arab Emirates wrote: "For the first time in the Middle East, it's time for everyone to celebrate. Blessings to Israel and humanity." In his words he referred to Farhan's picture from the hospital: "This photo powerfully demonstrates the reality - the Jewish "apartheid' state", where a Jewish doctor treats a Muslim Arab held captive by the Hamas-ISIS terrorists in Gaza."
