Resident reports harrowing experience on main road through Huwara.
A resident of Yitzhar in Samaria has reported a frightening encounter while driving through the town of Huwara last night (Monday). Miriam Yered describes being ambushed by a group who pelted her car with stones, causing significant damage to her vehicle.
Yered recounts that the incident occurred as she was nearing the exit of Huwara. She states that individuals ran towards her car from both directions, throwing stones at close range and attempting to stop the vehicle. The driver managed to accelerate away from the scene, sustaining damage to various parts of her car including broken lights and dented metal work.
"I escaped miraculously," Yered said, describing how glass shards flew into the car cabin during the attack. She noted that the perpetrators were not concealing their faces, which she interpreted as a sign of impunity.
Yered expressed concern about the lack of military presence in the area at the time of the incident. She also stated that she has not received any information about arrests related to the attack.
Despite the ordeal, Yered maintains that she will continue to use the roads in Samaria, calling on other residents to do the same. She has urged security forces to take stronger action in the area to prevent future incidents.
The situation highlights ongoing tensions in the region, with stone-throwing incidents being a recurring issue on roads in parts of Judea and Samaria.
