Syria rocket attack on Israel, Sea of Galilee, UAV's

After more than a month without launches from Syria: UAV intercepted over the Sea of Galilee

A UAV entered Israel this morning (Monday) from Syrian territory and was intercepted by our forces in the eastern area of the Sea of Galilee near Hamat Gader. This is the first Syrian attack in over a month to breach Israeli territory.

About a month ago, the IDF reported that Israel attacked a central command and military infrastructure of the Syrian army. Additionally, targets related to the Syrian air defense system were also attacked, according to channel 14 reports. The IDF emphasized that this attack was a response to the interception of two UAVs heading towards the northern area of Eilat.

A week later, according to reports from Syria, Israel attacked the Sayyida Zaynab district in the Syrian capital, which hosts the Revolutionary Guard. Reports indicated that a structure in the area was attacked and there were casualties. Sources associated with the Assad regime denied this, claiming it was a fire in one of the local factories.

It is recalled that yesterday, early in the morning, the Air Force carried out a preemptive strike against sites from which Hezbollah planned to launch missiles and rockets towards strategic targets in Israel. This was a response to the assassination of Hezbollah's military chief, Fuad Shukr, less than a month ago in the heart of the Dahieh neighborhood in Beirut. Shortly after, hundreds of launches were carried out towards northern settlements, but on a much smaller scale than what Hezbollah had planned.
