Master Sergeant Shlomo Yehonatan Hazut Killed by Roadside Bomb Attack in Gaza Strip

Master Sergeant (Res.) Shlomo Yehonatan Hazut, aged 36, from Ashdod, a soldier in the 9207th Battalion, 16th Brigade, was killed during combat in the central Gaza Strip. The IDF cleared for publication on Sunday that Hazut fell as a result of a roadside bomb planted by terrorists, which detonated in the Zaytun neighborhood.

The IDF also reported that during the same incident in which MSgt. Hazut was killed, a reservist from the 9207th Battalion, 16th Brigade, was severely injured. The soldier was evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment, and his family has been notified.

Earlier in the day, the IDF confirmed that Petty Officer 1st Class David Moshe Ben Shitrit, a sailor in the Israeli Navy's 914th Fleet, was killed during combat in northern Israel. The IDF added that two other soldiers from the Navy's 914th Fleet were lightly and moderately injured in the same incident.

David, aged 21, was a resident of the community of Geva Binyamin (Adam). He is survived by his parents and three sisters. He was the second soldier from the community to fall in combat in the past week.

Additionally, the IDF announced on Sunday that Sergeant Amit Tsadikov, a soldier in the 202nd Battalion, Paratroopers Brigade, was killed in battle in the south of the Gaza Strip. Sergeant Tsadikov is the 700th IDF soldier to fall in battle since the war began on October 7, 2023.
