The IDF announced that Sergeant David Moshe Ben Shitrit, 21 years old from the settlement of Adam, was killed this morning during combat in the north. This is the second soldier from the Binyamin region settlement to fall in the past week.
David, 21, leaves behind parents and three sisters. The Binyamin Regional Council announced the news, stating that details about the funeral will be provided later.
The head of the Binyamin Regional Council, Yisrael Gantz, expressed his sorrow, saying, "With great pain, we learned of the death of David, the son of Shimon and Iris, a council employee, and the brother of Tamar, Shir, and Hodaya, who fell during his service in the Navy in combat in the north. David loved his country and was determined to serve the people of Israel and fight for them. This is a severe blow to all of us, especially to the Adam settlement. Just last week, we laid Mordechai Ben Shoham to rest, may his memory be blessed. I want to extend my condolences to his parents and sisters—our hearts are with you! And to strengthen the residents of Adam. Thanks to our brave soldiers, the people of Israel will prevail!"
Ben Shitrit is the 701st soldier to fall since the beginning of the "Swords of Iron" war. This morning, the IDF also announced that Sergeant Amit Tsadikov, 20 years old from Beit Dagan, a fighter in the 202nd Battalion of the Paratroopers Brigade, was killed in battle in southern Gaza. His funeral will take place today at 16:00 at the cemetery in Beit Dagan.
