Now, the northern city is revealing for the first time footage of one of the direct hits on the city's football stadium. With the start of the football season in Israel and the beginning of the Premier League games, Kiryat Shmona has released footage of a rocket launched from Lebanon that landed directly in the local football stadium. Over the past ten months, the municipal stadium in Kiryat Shmona, which has not been in use for nearly a year, has been hit by no fewer than six rockets. One of these impacts was captured on camera, and now the Kiryat Shmona municipality has decided to unveil this rare footage and conduct a tour of the bombarded stadium.
As mentioned, the football team Ironi Kiryat Shmona, which returned to the Premier League this year, will open the season on Monday with what was supposed to be a home game. Due to the bombings and the difficult security situation in the city, the game will be held at the stadium in Netanya, which will serve as the home stadium for the northern team until they can return to their city.
The city spokesperson stated: "We will return to rebuild Kiryat Shmona. We will soon play in our stadium again, enjoy good football, and also win additional titles in a place with only good memories. No one will break us. We are proud Kiryat Shmona residents!"
