Two hundred North Americans made Aliyah on Thursday, arriving in Israel on five separate group flights, shattering records and setting the tone for an extraordinary week ahead. This remarkable day, coordinated by Nefesh B’Nefesh in partnership with Israel’s Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, the Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael, and JNF-USA, marks the highest number of Olim to arrive on a single day this year.

Throughout the week of August 20-28, a total of 600 new immigrants will make Israel their permanent home, boarding 14 group Aliyah flights organized by Nefesh B’Nefesh. This latest wave is part of a larger, inspiring movement that has seen 2,000 Olim, ranging in age from just two months to 97 years, embark on their life-changing journey to Israel this summer.

These new citizens come from a wide array of states and provinces across the U.S. and Canada, including Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Ontario. Their destinations within Israel are just as diverse, with many planning to settle in Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, Modi’in, Ra’anana, Tel Aviv-Yafo, and other thriving communities.

Bringing with them a rich tapestry of skills and expertise—from doctors and medical professionals to lawyers, accountants, software engineers, and national service volunteers—these Olim are set to contribute to Israeli society in countless ways. Among the newcomers this summer, 510 children will be starting school in Israel this September, beginning their own unique Aliyah journeys and adding to the future of the nation.
