The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, toured the Gaza Strip today (Tuesday) with the Commander of the Southern Command, Major General Yaron Finkelman; the Commander of the Gaza Division, Brigadier General Avi Rosenfeld; the brigade commanders; and the commanders and soldiers of the "Nahal Yehuda" Battalion.

The Chief of Staff told the soldiers: “Last night, in a deliberate operation based on intelligence that had been followed for a long time and developed over time, we had information about a location where our fallen, who were taken hostage, were buried. We went to retrieve them from a tunnel, ten meters underground, reaching, digging, locating the tunnel, entering, and bringing our people whom we very much wanted to return alive. But even bringing the fallen back to Israel is a very, very important task. It is a goal, and last night we completed this mission with respect to six of them."

He added, "We have a very strong determination to fight Hamas, a very strong determination to return all the hostages, alive if possible, and we will also be very, very determined and continue to bring the fallen back to their resting place in Israel."
