A day after the operation to extract the hostages' bodies from a tunnel in Khan Yunis, the IDF revealed earlier this evening the details of the operation and the intelligence that led to the successful extraction and return of the bodies to Israel.

According to a report by Kan News, the IDF has admitted that they previously attacked the area where the tunnel was located. However, it is still not possible to determine the cause of death for the hostages, and the possibility that they were killed by IDF fire is being considered.

Additionally, the IDF stated that more than six bodies of the Israeli hostages were extracted from the tunnel, and preliminary estimates suggest that the additional bodies are those of Hamas operatives. The bodies have been sent for examination, and the results are expected to be received soon.
