Delta Airlines announced on Tuesday that it will not resume flights to and from Israel in early September as previously planned and will instead extend the suspension until October.

This decision means that El Al will remain the only airline operating flights between Israel and the US for at least another month.

Delta initially suspended its flights to and from Israel in response to Iran's threat of a large-scale attack on Israel following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran at the end of July.
