Kibbutz Nir Oz announced on Tuesday morning that Avraham Munder, who was kidnapped by terrorists to Gaza on October 7, 2023, has been murdered while in captivity.

"With deep sorrow, Kibbutz Nir Oz confirms the tragic murder of Avraham Munder, who was held hostage in Gaza, enduring months of unimaginable physical and mental torment," the kibbutz stated.

Avraham, 79, was a beloved member of Kibbutz Nir Oz. He worked at the Nirlat factory and was cherished for his warm personality and his deep passion for singing.

Avraham was abducted alongside his wife Ruti, his daughter Keren, and his only grandson, nine-year-old Ohad, who were later released as part of a hostage deal.

Tragically, his son, Ro'ee Munder, was brutally murdered during the October 7th massacre.

Ruti, Keren, and Ohad were freed in a November 2023 prisoner swap deal, which saw the release of most civilian women and children in exchange for convicted terrorists.
