Report: Possible failed suicide bombing in Tel Aviv

A truck explosion previously attributed to a criminal assassination attempt is now increasingly believed to be a failed suicide bombing attack.

A truck explosion which killed one and wounded another on Lehi street in Tel Aviv tonight (Sunday), and which was previously thought to involve criminal motivations, may instead be due to a failed terrorist attack.

This conclusion is being seriously looked at by police and Shin Bet investigators, and if true - will point to one of the most serious attempted terrorist attacks - involving a suicide bombing or shooting - on Israeli soil in decades, excluding October 7.
