The Security and Social Affairs Division of the Ministry of Defense announced this morning (Monday) a call for the establishment of a pre-military preparatory program for Haredi youth, marking the first such program in ten years. The goal of the preparatory program is to increase motivation for meaningful military service among young graduates of Haredi yeshivas and to prepare them mentally and physically for their service in the IDF.

The pre-military preparatory program for Haredi youth is set to start in the upcoming November and will include around 40 participants. The program will run throughout the 2024-2025 school year and will be conducted in a residential setting.

During the program, participants will engage in a variety of activities focused on increasing motivation for significant military service, acquiring skills and competencies, learning about the country, and preparing physically and mentally in a manner suitable for the Haredi population.

Oudi Dror, Head of the Recruitment Division for Special and Religious Tracks in the Security and Social Affairs Division of the Ministry of Defense, stated: "The Security and Social Affairs Division is working to create a range of programs to encourage and prepare youth for the IDF, including boys from the Haredi sector. We are collaborating with senior figures from the sector to tailor the conditions of the military preparatory program so that they can continue to maintain their Haredi identity."
