A fire erupted at a synagogue in Safed’s Canaan neighborhood on Thursday evening, prompting an immediate response from four fire crews from the Galil-Golan station.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the blaze raging inside the synagogue. They quickly entered the building, battling the flames while ensuring no one was trapped inside.

In a heroic effort, the firefighters successfully retrieved the Torah scrolls from the ark, handing them over to the congregants without any damage.

The fire has since been brought under control.
