Three days later: Today (Thursday), the IDF, Shin Bet, and the Duvdevan Unit arrested a terrorist from Qalqilya who was part of the terror cell of the terrorist Tarek Daoud, responsible for the shooting attack in Qalqilya on Monday, where an Israeli civilian was injured. According to initial Shin Bet investigations, the arrested terrorist admitted to passing on information about the presence of an Israeli in a garage in Qalqilya to facilitate the attack.
The IDF stated, "The IDF reiterates that entry of Israelis into Area A is dangerous and prohibited by law."
As previously reported, on Monday, an Israeli in his 60s accidentally entered Qalqilya and was injured in the upper part of his body from gunfire in the garage area of the city. The injured person was taken to 'Darwish Nazzal' Hospital in the city for initial medical treatment. After his condition stabilized, he was transferred to Israeli forces and further treated at Meir Hospital, where his condition was described as serious but stable.
It was later reported that the leader of the terror cell, Tarek Daoud, was neutralized by the commander of the Ephraim Brigade. Daoud had been released in the recent hostage deal in November, and since then, security forces had attempted to arrest him more than 15 times without success.
