IDF: We've demolished over 50 tunnels along Gaza-Egypt border

The IDF is seeking to choke off Hamas' supply of arms and war materiel via Egypt by systematically destroying any and all tunnels it detects.

The IDF stated today (Thursday) that it has demolished around 50 tunnels in the area of the Philadephi Corridor, which runs along the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.

The tunnels were used to smuggle not only goods but also vast quantities of weapons and war materiel to Hamas and other terrorist groups, and the IDF hopes to choke off that supply by finding and destroying all the tunnels in the area.

Holding the Philadephi Corridor is now considered a vital strategic aim by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who says that any hostage or ceasefire deal must include an IDF presence along the Corridor.
