According to the Ynet news report, since October 7, the northern region has been severely impacted by conflict, with over 7,500 rockets and 200 UAVs fired, resulting in extensive damage. The government's delay in formulating a strategy against Hezbollah contrasts sharply with the escalating crisis.
Since October 8, when Hezbollah began supporting Hamas, around 7,500 rockets have been launched by the Iranian proxy, with approximately 6,500 hitting Israel, alongside over 200 UAVs penetrating Israeli airspace. The highest activity was recorded in July with 1,091 launches, followed by May with 1,000 and June with 855, compared to January’s 344, reflecting a marked escalation at the Lebanon border.
The conflict has resulted in 24 Israeli civilians and one Indian civilian being killed, with 19 security personnel also dying, bringing the total fatalities in the north to 44. There are 271 injuries reported, including 130 civilians and 141 security personnel.
As of August 11, 62,480 people have been evacuated from northern areas, with 16,855 staying in hotels, 45,562 residing in other communities, and 63 having self-evacuated. About 25% of these evacuees are children, primarily between the ages of 7 and 12.
The Tax Authority has received 4,378 damage claims for northern settlements, including 2,581 for building damage, 910 for vehicle damage, and 183 for agricultural damage. This number is expected to rise as more evacuees assess the damage to their properties.
Since the conflict began, firefighters have responded to 790 fires caused by rocket impacts. The Nature and Parks Authority reports that approximately 39,000 acres have burned, with the majority of the damage occurring in the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee. Additionally, 2,470 acres of grazing land and 25 acres of wheat and irrigation systems have been destroyed, impacting 30 grazing areas, 24 of which remain closed for security reasons.
