According to American reports, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is reportedly fearful for his life. In private conversations with members of Congress, Salman has expressed concerns about potential assassination if he agrees to normalization with Israel. The American news network Politico reports that the Saudi Crown Prince has conveyed in closed discussions with U.S. officials that if he agrees to normalization with Israel, he might face assassination similar to Anwar Sadat.
Politico reports that while Salman is interested in a comprehensive agreement with the United States, which would also include normalization with Israel, he deeply fears for his life if he proceeds with an agreement with Israel without concessions for the Palestinians.
Reports state that Salman explained in private conversations that "Saudis, like other people in the Middle East, care deeply about the Palestinian issue. My status as the guardian of the holy places would be undermined if I do not address this pressing issue."
According to the reports, Salman has concluded in recent months that "there is no possibility of stability in the Middle East without resolving the Palestinian issue," but he remains committed to a comprehensive agreement with the United States, which he views as essential for Saudi Arabia's future survival.
