Light Rail inspector holds on to child's stroller

A confrontation between a father and Light Rail inspectors in Jerusalem has led to public outcry and an official investigation. The incident, captured on video and widely shared on social media, shows inspectors detaining a man and his two young children, including a baby in a stroller.

The dispute arose when inspectors found the father had not validated tickets for his children. When asked to identify himself, the man refused and attempted to leave. Video footage shows an inspector physically blocking the father's departure by holding onto the baby stroller.

The incident has prompted action from transportation authorities:

  1. The National Public Transportation Authority has ordered a halt to ticket issuance on the Light Rail pending investigation.
  2. Transportation Minister Miri Regev has called for a comprehensive inquiry.
  3. Cfir, the company operating the Light Rail, will face a hearing.

Cfir maintains that their inspectors acted appropriately and in accordance with the law. They state the passenger refused to comply with ticket validation rules and identification requests.

The father's identity remains unknown, and his side of the story has not been heard.
