Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Yariv Levin contacted the Chair of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and UNICEF, the UN's international emergency fund for children, following a distressing report released by the Ministry of Justice about the situation of children and youth in Israel due to the conflict. "Condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks by Hamas and Hezbollah against Israeli children and work towards the release of the hostages."
The report details the immense and unimaginable damage and suffering inflicted on children and teenagers in Israel during the October 7 massacre and throughout the conflict. It outlines the severe injuries sustained by children and adolescents, many of whom were murdered, abducted, orphaned, suffered severe physical and psychological injuries, and were displaced from their homes.
Not long ago, 12 young children were killed and dozens injured by a direct Hezbollah rocket strike on a soccer field where they were playing. The report also highlights the relentless attacks by Hamas and Hezbollah terrorist organizations, which have caused physical and mental disabilities to nearly 20,000 children, who will carry these scars for the rest of their lives.
