Military Advocate General (MAG) Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi encountered sharp criticism during a session of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Sunday.

In response to growing public skepticism about military prosecutions, Tomer-Yerushalmi defended her office's actions, stating, "When you don't support the prosecution, you're undermining IDF soldiers."

The AG reported that 74 cases are currently under investigation, with five indictments filed so far. She emphasized that these investigations are crucial for achieving Israel's war objectives and maintaining the IDF's operational capacity.

Earlier in the day, MK Tali Gottlieb expressed concerns about the Sde Teiman incident during a separate committee meeting. Gottlieb criticized the handling of the case, particularly the leaking of video evidence, describing it as "a mega attack on the reputation of our fighters and the State of Israel."

Gottlieb questioned the timing and motivation behind the release of investigation materials, suggesting it could harm Israel's image while the country is engaged in military operations in Gaza and other fronts.

She argued that such investigations should be conducted discreetly and after the conclusion of current hostilities to protect the dignity of IDF soldiers and maintain national morale.
